Horizon West American Legion Post 419 - Reimagining Your Veteran experience!

Our Mission

The Horizon West American Legion Post 419 launched in June 2023 and has been the fastest growing post in the Florida District. We exist to support veterans, strengthen our community, and honor the legacy of service.

A Great History

Founded by an Act of Congress after World War I, The American Legion fiercely advocates for the unique needs of every generation of veterans, service members, and their families who pledge to protect our nation.

An Engaging TODAY

We are one of the few American Legion Posts without a building. That gives us the freedom to be in the community, supporting and hosting events and providing opportunities to veterans to find their people. Connections matter and we're all about building relationships that count.

A Brilliant Future

Our members support a number of Youth initiatives such as Scouting, Junior ROTC, Boys and Girls State. Youth is one of the Four Pillars of the American Legion which: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, Americanism, National Security and Children/Youth.

Without a dedicated building for the post's home, the Horizon West American Legion can dare to be different. Its not a smoky bar or a pool hall. Its a group of committed veterans who share the experience of serving the United State of America in one its elite military branches.

Monthly Socials

We plan regular monthly social events to bring our members together. The social support system for area veterans. Some vets come every now and then, others show up more often than not. Its always great to know that you've got a group who understands you. Networking, advice, storytelling.

Community Events, Festivals

The Horizon West area is growing fast and there are a number of great community organizations who host major events, festivals and gatherings. We are often invited to share our mission, host a table or booth and connect with fellow veterans.
